This document is created to provide helpful instruction for those would like to use their Android devices (Phone and Tablet) to install and use ZOOM for viewing/hearing congregation meetings. You may want to print a copy of this document or access this help file in another device to provide you help during the installation. 

You will receive invitation links, meeting IDs, and passwords from your congregation and it should not be shared on social media or posted on the Internet

1. Install ZOOM Cloud Meetings from Google Play Store. Link for the Google Play Store ZOOM app is available at the and of this document.

   

2. Open ZOOM and tap Join A Meeting

3. Type in the Meeting ID and enter your name. After your name, please enter the number of participants in your location. This will help the attendants to get the accurate count of participants (eg. Name – 1). By default, the Screen Name (in Apple devices) and Your Name (in Android devices) will be the name of your device, please clear it and type an identifiable name (family name or name of the individual).

If the meeting that you are trying to join has a password, you will see a new popup window to enter password. Please enter password and click continue

Audio

After you join the meeting, tap on the Call via Device Audio on the bottom left corner. If you are using ZOOM for the first time, a window will pop up for microphone permission, tap ALLOW.

At this point you should be able to hear others. For others to hear you, tap Unmute (to mute yourself tap Mute).

Video

To start your Camera, tap Start Video. If you are using ZOOM for the first time, a window will pop up for camera permission, tap ALLOW.

Now others should be able to see you. To stop the camera, tap Stop Video.

Raise Hands

To answer or make a comment, tap the More (…) icon on the lower right corner of the screen and tap the Raise Hand. To lower the hand, tap the … icon on the lower right corner and tap the Lower Hand. If your hand is raised, you can see a small blue hand icon on the screen above the Share icon.

 Leave Meeting

To leave the meeting, tap on the screen and tap Leave at the upper right corner of the screen.
